Dispeller of Myths and Bad Ideas
I got into this industry in 2012 and since that time I have met great, honest, hardworking people who started grooming because of a love for pets and a desire to want to make those pets look better, be healthier and happier.
Something that I also see, is that those same great people deserve more for the time, energy and passion that they put into their craft.
As part of the GBU team, I hope to help groomers maximize all the potential that their businesses hold, by teaching them how to recognize sales opportunities, become comfortable selling to their clients, understand the value of their skill set and provide excellent customer service to their clients, which should be a staple of any business, but is becoming a thing of the past!
I am from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Starting at the age of 14, I began commercial fishing in the summers during high school and college, and continued fishing after school was done.
In 2000, I decided to switch gears and moved to Charlotte, where I started working at a large camera retailer and worked my way up the chain to managing one of the largest stores in the company.
While I enjoyed my time in retail and all that I learned, I wanted to focus my attention to business to business sales. I began working in the very competitive beer and wine industry. It was there I realized how much I enjoyed business to business sales because of the relationship that you build with your customers.
In 2012, I was recruited by my old friend Tara to start a new adventure, eMDD Distribution. That is when I started selling Envirogroom products to groomers, vets and boarding facilities, where I have met a lot of incredible people and learned about this great industry.
When I am not working, I enjoy photography. I am an avid football fan and most of all I enjoy spending time with my wife Hilary and my son, Jacob. They are the reason that I wake up every morning and the inspiration for wanting to make the grooming industry better. I want it to be better for my family and better for all of our families.
“Aim high, work hard, and love your family.”
